HOW TO LEARN BETTER?

Our education system centered around music playing, performing and recording. So, students learn a variety of songs and to cope with the demand of learning, we teach and encourage our students to transcribe music/drum parts.

Transcribing music means writing down what you hear when you listen to a song. It is one of the best ways to learn a song and you get to understand what’s happening behind the music and learning your instrument better in the process.

There are various skills you develop from transcribing:

1) Of course, you will greatly improve your ear for discerning pitch and rhythm.

2) You will develop the ability to listen at a high level of consciousness and learning to pay great attention to detail.

3) You will also learn to hear and reproduce sounds that musical notation could never fully or accurately express.

4) Transcribe songs/solos give you a chance to build a vocabulary of useful “chops & licks” that can be practiced and use in your own playing.
